Stern Godzilla Pinball

Repairs, Restorations, Tweaks and Insights

Introduction

May 27, 2023 (Updated April 8, 2024)

I played Stern's Godzilla for the first time in March 2022 at a cool arcade+bar in Asheville, NC. The place was called Level 256. I immediately knew that Godzilla was a great game. Since then I've played it at other places, such as BumperNets in Birmingham, AL as well as the 2023 Texas Pinball Festival. Each time my opinion was confirmed, Stern's Godzilla is simply amazing.

I owned the Pro version of Godzilla for a few months. I ended up selling it because I greatly prefer the Premium version with the moving building, Mecha Godzilla's tummy magnet and moving bridge. Alas, I have not got a premium version yet.

Since I didn't own Godzilla Pro very long, and it was in like-new condition requiring no fixing, there's not much in this section other than pictures.

Replacing Noisy Fan

May 27, 2023

The Stern Spike 2 power supplies have very loud fans. I purchased one of the well known fan replacements. It requires removing the power supply from the backbox, breaking the warranty seal, opening up the power supply, and cutting the existing fan's wires out of some goop. I took almost no pictures during this process, unfortunately.
